Suffering

"Your suffering is never useless dear sick people. Moreover it's a precious thing. If you bring together your suffering and pain you can be God's priveliged helpers in the salvation of souls."
-Pope John Paul, 2/11/05

railroaded!

a ferry nowhere abound
no one to kiss, no face found
like a train without a clue
reaching the stop no one knew
inside like a python
coiled, slithering its tongue
reflect times on warnings none
memories to the wayside unhung
index cards littered
once spared, i've severed
debris hidden among
swept and gone
reservations, beyond
optimistic, has been
mild and hot
but "can do"
none the less
if i don't love you, i hate you
as inevitable grief
breeds belief
to right the wrongs
thumps of hate sudden so
dwarfed against beauty's throes
seem awfully unauthentic
yet push to forget it
influenza apt to strike
desires health
poverty hungers wealth
forget minus forgiveness
equals zero point zero
a heart marred by illness
more benevolence less ego
no sorries, or blames
forgiveness staked its claim
where there will always be space
if you settle your dust
i will remember
it may be never
pride has gross limits

Wednesday

shed

is it your pride you won't compromise,
is departure making you untouchable?
fears don't express sorrow or gratitude
t'is better t'love and lost than not love at'all
be sweet, be nice don't shower or hover
lest you get into too cozy a zone
believed love is moved by us
when it delicately slinks on its own
let it lead where it may
provocation can shatter its cage
days have passed with brushes against life
you neglected you as introverted you seem
then came time to refelct on what matters
take risks to challenge the patterns
because it could end in any minute
and so you will, a finer person
